Vikesh Patel

I’m Vikesh Patel but everyone calls me Vik and am the Head of IT at VPC. My role is to keep VPC hardware, software & infrastructure up to date, secure at a high standard with proactive improvements to keep on top of our cybersecurity landscape.

I’ve a wealth of experience in all parts of IT having worked in IT for 16+ years. I started as an entry level engineer worked my way to Senior IT Consultant and Technical Team Lead. I’ve worked in small to large managed service providers which has exposed me to many types of business attributing to my knowledge and skill sets I have today.

I’d say I’m a jack of all trades with IT (and most DIY too). In the last 4 years I mainly have been focusing on Microsoft 365 (M365), developing a zero-trust security model with modern workplace ethics. Using all the tools provided by M365, Intune, Azure and various networking & security appliances I’ve developed my very own take on Modern Workplace. Empowering small to medium business to scale their IT as they grow in a cost-effective manner.

What Is Your Biggest Achievement?
I have recently renovated parts of my house. I did much of this manually, including much of the smart home set up. Having done this, I feel I am able to tackle most hands-on jobs. I have also completed several half marathons, working my way up to the big one! I will report back once its completed!!

What Are Your Hobbies?
I have various hobbies from DIY, home automation, personal projects (which seem to be never ending), supporting charities, keeping an eye on family and health I greatly keep myself active.
